Sarah has been providing expert treatment to support people with complex medical and psychosocial needs for over 25 years. She is a Professor of Clinical Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Melbourne, and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (FAHMS) and the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia (FASSA). She is a leading international clinician and researcher, recognised for her expertise in the treatment of the cognitive, emotional, and social difficulties faced by individuals with neurological and mental health disorders.
Sarah has established a hospital-based rehabilitation service for people with epilepsy and their families, and more recently set up this community-based neuropsychology clinic to provide treatment for people with functional neurological disorders. Her approach to client care has been used as a benchmark of best practice, changing clinical practice around the globe. She established the first set of international standards for neuropsychological practice in epilepsy, and in Clinical Neuropsychology she is currently listed as the 11th most cited researcher in the world (view Google Scholar page).
Sarah is currently a Professor of Clinical Neuropsychology within the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences at the University of Melbourne. Sarah strongly believes in championing the needs of people with complex medical and psychosocial needs, training the next generation of expert clinicians and researchers (Registrars) and conducting clinical trials to improve methods of treatment and clinical care.
